Cleansing, Activated Charcoal, and Intermittent Fasting

Posted by on

As I go about my daily life, especially on those busy days where I end up grabbing a quick, not-so-healthy bite to eat, I can feel myself becoming more and more sluggish and weighed down. I used to attribute that to needing more sleep, and while that can help greatly, something I have found to be even more helpful is a body cleanse!

Activated Charcoal Cleanse

There are many ways to achieve this, but my personal favorite is using activated charcoal supplements. Derived from burning coconut shells, this charcoal is activated by high temperatures and works through the process of "autophagy", also known as "cell death". Simply put, autophagy is when older sick cells are replaced with newer healthy ones.

Also, the superfine particles of activated charcoal effectively bind to toxins in your system and expel them with other waste products. This aids not only in cleansing your body but also in improving the health of your digestive and heart health.

Taking activated charcoal supplements alone causes a night and day difference in my energy levels and brain clarity, but to boost that up a notch I like to pair the supplements with a diet of intermittent fasting.

Intermittent Fasting and Activated Charcoal

Intermittent fasting involves fasting for certain periods of time and eating for only a small window of the day. This kickstarts a process called "ketosis", which is when your body begins using stored fat as fuel after using up your glucose reserves taken from food.

Paired with activated charcoal supplements, this is like a two-in-one cleanse! The activated charcoal removes buildups of toxins from your body, while intermittent fasting gets rid of any residual fat stores and clears out your digestive tract.

I have noticed that this is a mutually beneficial pairing, as both cleansing methods support the other's processes. It is difficult for me to keep up with these habits in the beginning, but once I get through that first week it is much smoother sailing from then on!

So if you're like me and feeling bogged down during the busy months or the holidays, why don't you try out some activated charcoal supplements with intermittent fasting? You can expect to have more energy and weight loss, less digestive issues, and fewer sluggish days.
