Are you following a diet, trying to get all the nutrients, exercising harder than ever, sweating and losing weight, but still feel that you are far from being healthy and happy? It's all about keeping a balance and temperance in all the aspects of your life. Follow Nicolette's story on how she found balance in her life.
Being healthy is a lifestyle. It is living your life while being conscious of what you put in your body, and caring for every living being around you. You start to appreciate every meal you have, and appreciate what fuel your body the most. Still think it's easy to say but too hard to do? Making the slightest changes in your lifestyle can actually be more effective than you think!
Balance your diet
Eliminating certain food groups will greatly change your life. I found my way to be healthy in switching to vegan life and it worked perfectly for me. I don’t like to call being vegan a “diet”. I feel like it degrades the purpose of changing your life for the better. Before that, I was feeding my body greasy fast food and unhealthy animal foods. Now, my body is fueled naturally, meaning I have living plants inside me giving me the nutrients our bodies crave. In my short time of being plant-based, I have seen some of the biggest changes. My endurance levels are up, I have more energy in my mid-20s than I ever did in my years of competitive dancing. My skin is glowing with radiance of knowing that I have whole plant-based foods surging through my veins. I used to have really bad allergies in the spring time, and this year my allergies were non-existent. Seriously! Not a sniffle in sight! Growing up I had really bad asthma, and I bet you already know the answer, I haven’t had any asthma symptoms.
Balance your nutrition
Our bodies require a bunch of different nutrients every day. The lack of such can provoke different unpleasant health conditions that you want to avoid in your life. Supplements are a great way to enrich your diet, boost your wellness and make sure you get all the nutrients you need. My favorite remedy is Apple Cider Vinegar, which I typically drink in the morning. ACV can help regulate blood sugar levels and lower the risk of diabetes. This natural remedy packs a great detoxifying and antioxidant punch, and is highly effective against free radicals - that's what your body is calling for! Take Apple Cider Vinegar to boost your weight loss as a part of your weight control program, control your pH level, and support your overall well being.

Balance your physical activity
I’ve lived an active lifestyle since the age of four. I grew up in a strict ballet studio, being taught discipline at a young age. I danced all throughout high school and into my college years, then stopped when it became too expensive. After dancing stopped, I felt lost and I really didn’t know what to do. I turned to the gym, I focused all my time to the gym. I would spend 5-6 days a week, pumping as much iron as I could. I had a strict workout split, and if I fell off I would feel like I lost all this progress. I was obsessed with working out and even more obsessed with being the strongest girls in the gym. I lost track of the reason why I was working out in the first place. I feel like I was in the gym for the approval of others rather than for myself. It wasn’t until this April that I started to see otherwise.
The healing power of yoga
My longtime friend I danced with took me to her yoga studio and I instantly fell in love. I didn’t know how much I would love hot yoga until then. I fell in love with the vibe of the studio, the heat surging through the studio detoxifying my soul. There’s something cleansing about hot yoga. I feel like with each sweat drop leaving my body I am letting go of a past self. I like the way yoga makes me feel, the way it calms my anxiety.Yoga has brought a sense of empowerment to me. I feel like I can conquer the world after an amazing class. I carry myself in a different way, I have more confidence than I’ve ever had in my life. Physically-wise, I’m seeing more of a change that I’ve been looking for. I wasn’t bulking anymore and I was leaning out, which was what I was striving for. I’m grateful every day for the ability to be on my mat, bettering myself from the inside out.
Have courage not to think, but just do!
The way I live my life now is one that I never would have expected for myself. I always thought about being vegan, but I never had to courage to do it. I always liked taking yoga at my gym but never thought I would love it as much as I do now. I feel like I have a glowing radiance around me, I’m wearing my new confidence proudly for the world to see. I’m grateful everyday for this change I’ve made, and I don’t see myself ever going back to my old ways. If you’re thinking about going vegan, do it, don’t even think twice about it. Want to start doing yoga? Find a studio. I promise to you, you will not regret it. Fuel and give your body the love it deserves and your body will forever love you back.
Here is my inspiration for you...
The way I live my life now is one that I never would have expected for myself. Whenever I talk to people about transitioning to this amazing lifestyle, I say to go slow. Slowly eliminate toxins and unhealthy ingredients one at a time. For me, transitioning to a vegan lifestyle and spending time in a yoga studio made my life worth living. I wake up every day thankful for the vessel I walk this earth in, thankful for my time on my mat. It sounds crazy, but once I made this change everything just started to make sense. Getting out of a stuffy gym and into a yoga studio opened my heart and mind to another side of the fitness world. Practicing on my mat made me let go of all this hate and negativity I had been holding onto for a long time. I can clear my mind in the studio, focus on me in that moment, and take in all the energies around.
